About

I did not wait to become a PM.
I just built the product.

My career path is unconventional — and that is exactly what makes me a stronger PM candidate. I have spent years doing the work: identifying gaps, researching users, making product decisions with incomplete information, and shipping.

Background

Avani Gala

I'm a product-focused builder with a background in marketing, UX, and entrepreneurship. I'm drawn to problems that sit at the intersection of user trust, behavior change, and business impact, and I enjoy taking products from 0 → 1 and iterating toward product–market fit.

After completing my MBA in Marketing, I started my career at a startup in Atlanta, where I owned digital marketing and campaign strategy in a fast-paced environment. I later moved to the Bay Area and joined Exclusive Networks, a global cybersecurity company, where I partnered closely with product and go-to-market teams on B2B launches, account-based marketing, and multi-channel campaigns.

My transition into product management began when I built my own wellness brand, Saanvi Botanicals.

What started as a personal interest in Ayurveda became a full product journey. I identified a trust gap in women's intimate care—customers wanted natural solutions but lacked clarity and confidence in existing products. I focused on a narrow, high-intent use case and built solutions from the ground up.

To deepen my product and design toolkit, I completed the Google UX Design certification and a Product Management program through CareerFoundry, strengthening my skills in user research, interaction design, and product strategy.

Today, I'm focused on Product Management roles where I can combine user insight, structured thinking, and execution to build impactful products.

Over the past five years, I've led the end-to-end product lifecycle:

  • Conducted user research and defined the problem space
  • Developed and iterated on products based on customer feedback
  • Launched and validated demand on Etsy
  • Expanded distribution through Walmart Marketplace
  • Built a direct-to-consumer experience on Shopify
  • Drove growth through Google Ads and social channels

Philosophy

How I think
about product

“Building Saanvi Botanicals taught me that great products are not just functional. They create trust, emotion, ritual, and repeat behavior. Products become meaningful when they solve a problem people deeply feel.”

01

Start with the user problem

No feature, no roadmap, no scope until the pain is clearly defined and validated.

02

Prioritize for signal, not scope

Doing less, better. The loudest request is rarely the most important one.

03

Validate early, iterate fast

Real feedback from real users beats internal conviction every time.

04

Align to measurable outcomes

Decisions connect back to retention, repeat usage — not just shipped features.

Outside of Work

Outside of work

Outside of work, I'm interested in wellness and Ayurveda, and I enjoy creating thoughtful experiences that combine simplicity, design, and purpose.

I spend time exploring hiking trails across the Bay Area with my 7-year-old and my husband—something that helps me reset and often brings fresh perspective to how I think about problems.

Travel is another big influence on me. Over the past few years, we've traveled to more than 15 countries together, experiencing different cultures and systems. These experiences have shaped how I approach problems—with curiosity, adaptability, and a strong appreciation for diverse user needs.
